24.01.03.AP1 MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT REPORTS

1.00 GENERAL

The Texas A&M University System carries motor vehicle liability insurance coverage for System vehicles.

Failure to report an accident promptly and accurately could result in denial of the claim by the insurance carrier. Thus, any incurred liability could revert to the employee, the supervisor(s), or administrative superior(s).

The Motor Vehicle Accident Reporting brochure of Texas A&M AgriLife (AgriLife) (Attachment A) provides detailed instructions on the appropriate actions to take following a motor vehicle accident. Units will ensure that a copy of the brochure, along with copies of the System Form 9, System Motor Vehicle Accident Report, and a copy of the Texas DPS Report Form ST-2, Drivers Confidential Accident Report (a blue colored form) are placed in the map/glove compartment of each vehicle owned by the Experiment Station.
